did i say something about 11pm being the witching hour?
so okay, i left my condo on the water (noisy, lots of wind--the crazy bending in the bay window was freaking me out), contemplated offering my body to my neighbour (no, not sex, ritual sacrifice) for company but he's higher up and his bay window is in worse shape than mine. and there's no food, not that i'm hungry or anything.
drove from tumon (coastal) up to barrigada (highest point in the central-northern area) and it's just as windy here but it's not as loud. yet. i think we'll bear the brunt of it as we're so high up, even though historically, it's the south that gets it every time. everything was closed except some gas stations, and some food places in tumon. i was going to stop at fuji-ichiban ramen place near me, but the cops were arresting a patron inside, so i changed my mind and headed to my folks' home. ambulances rushing everywhere. at least one accident. lots of power crews securing lines. only a couple of small trees down now. high tide is causing coastal roads to flood, and i think the reason we don't have power is because lower barrigada is probably drowning at the moment. last storm they had to rescue people in jet skis, and it's landlocked....
oh, navy is definitely shutting down power to water wells at 9pm so hopefully everyone's got a bath tub full of flushing water....
my dogs are freaking out. in a quiet way. as is my mother. i'm a little more vocal, in a typing frenzy sort of way. i'm guessing the winds are at about 40-50 right now. oh wait. durrrrr. they just picked up. sheeeeeeetmusic.
my cousin is at a party right now, my goddaughter is celebrating her birthday at gameworks as i type, our neighbour has his generator on, i'm sitting in the dark, with just the glow of my ibook illuminating the dark and stormy, er, afternoon. what the heck is going on here?
